Reality check: Hyderabad & its fer’T’ile lands…

I read an related article in Times of India about the much-hyped MedTech Valley proposed by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has not found any takers, like the earlier project, silicon fab city (at least few companies started investing and later silently backing off due to political unrest). The urban development authority has proposed MedTech Valley in an extent of 200 acres in Jawaharnagar near BITS (Pilani) Hyderabad campus and Army Dental College. This special zone has been developed for setting up a cluster of units manufacturing medical devices and diagnostic equipment. A year after the HMDA announced the project in July 2010, no firm has set up shop at the Valley. Some companies like Johnson & Johnson and Siemens evinced interest initially, but later they too backed off. HMDA officials claim the firms did not finalize plans due to the prevailing political conditions in the state. Over half-a-dozen companies made enquiries during Bio-Asia 2010 held in the city last year, but did not turn up despite assurances.

To be honest, neither I support nor against Telengana issue nor from the region. But all the above credits go to the KCR, his team & puppet government. Because of the unnecessary noise which they are creating had lead to firms expressing their dissatisfaction of establishing their centers at Hyderabad. People who never thought of other's origin, are now talking about which region you come from... People who never knew who KCR was, have made him a hero.... People(of this generation) who had never felt about any 'so called' discrimination, now talk about our telangana region being ignored and discriminated. Already the state lost tons of opportunities, which is created by Charismatic Chandra Babu Naidu & dreams of Potti Sreeramulu got shattered.

The existing political unrest is just crippling not only Hyderabad but every walks of life in AP, which is the ground reality! Due to puppet chief minister and defiant political unrest, students life crippled, naxals supporters are in spree, common people of facing issues for basic needs (water/milk/vegetables/power), people die to see unapproved strikes/protests, careers of young men lost in common life.

Till the time when I was there in Hyderabad, it was a real paradise for us, we never seen this issues. If it continues, even after some political settlement I don’t see any new companies will be coming to either of these regions.

I would say, an opportunity of momentum lost!!
